What is a patient portal?

 A patient portal is a secure way to communicate over the Internet. It is a secure website that requires you to log in with a user name and password. Most commonly your user name will be your email address. If you forget your user name you can reset it yourself on the login page. If you wish to use the patient portal for communication is important that you keep my office updated of your current email address.

Most commonly I use the patient portal to communicate results of tests. This allows me to get the information to you more quickly and allows you to have and keep a copy of the test results. From the patient portal you can print out the test results and can login to review them again at any time in the future.

Sometimes my staff will send patient statements or other administrative messages out through the patient portal.
